Personal grooming has become a necessity in civilized society and has driven both men and women to look for permanent solutions to ongoing grooming problems. One of the most widely accepted forms of grooming is the removal of hair, which gives the body a more attractive, smooth, youthful look. Skin, when properly cared for, without hair feels like satin. Permanent hair removal is the solution, so that you don’t need to worry about removing unwanted growing hair, every time you go out. The best way of removing unwanted hair permanently is by using laser therapy or electrolysis.

The process of laser hair removal involves the use of a beam of light from a pen like wand. The laser uses a specific light wavelength to destroy the hair follicles growth ability. This process is completely painless and should be worry free. Eliminate Unwanted Body Hair Guaranteed!

Millions of people have now tried laser hair removal for themselves and although the process at a spa is getting less expensive it can still be a costly endeavor if you want to remove hair from large sections of your body like your legs. The results of the laser therapy are different from person to person. Many times it can take several treatments before permanent hair loss is achieved.

Traditional ways of removing hair by plucking the hairs out, waxing, or whatever other ripping and tearing of hairs has been proven to be harmful if the process performed with much needed care and attention.

Consumers have, for the most part, given permanent hair removal glowing reviews claiming that it has helped or completely stopped the growth of hair. Those that did not achieve complete hair removal said the hair still growing is very fine and light, and can easily removed.

So if you’re going to a medspa they are likely to use a laser treatment method. But if you’re looking for a home solution to permanent hair removal check out the newest hand held electrolysis devices. Also pain free, also highly effective, and can be used safely at home without medical staff, perfect for removing hair from more sensitive areas.

Epilators and Tweezing – Hair Removal

Tweezing is a great way to maintain your eyebrows between waxing treatments. When tweezing between treatments, make sure that you don’t get too close to the eyebrow, you want to grab just the strays. It is difficult to do an initial shaping or maintain the shape of your eyebrows by just tweezing. When tweezing, it’s easy to pluck the wrong hairs, or go too thin and give yourself uneven eyebrows.

Epilators are, in essence, “electric tweezers”. They might be called tweezers, but they are not meant to be used on facial hair. Epilators work like a razor (don’t use it in the shower ladies), but the results are like waxing.

How the epilator works:
An electric razor looking device, the epilator, has small springs instead of razor blades. When you turn on the epilator and run it over your skin, the springs will grab many hairs at once and pull the hairs out at the root.

Tips:
Numb your skin with ice before you begin, and hope it really numbs it.
For best results. make sure your hair is min. 1/4″ long.
Go over the area a few times for smoother, silkier skin.
Moisturize you’re skin between sessions (if there is more then one), to prevent irriation and ingrown hairs.

Waxing – Hair Removal

Waxing - hair removal

Waxing - hair removal

Waxing* is the most common temporary hair removal procedure. It was one of the procedures that you have the option to do it in the privacy of your home or at the spa by a professional.

Your hair grows in three different cycles:
1. Anagen(the growth cycle)
2. Catagen(the transition cycle)
3. Telogen(rest cycle, and then starts over).

Based on the cycle your hair is in when you get waxed it will be anywhere from 3-8 weeks before you’re ready for your next wax treatment.

When getting a waxing treatment you want your hair to be the correct length to ensure that your hairs will grab to the wax and that the results will last longer. The correct length is approximately ¼ in, a good measuring tool is your eyebrows. If you are afraid it may hurt take a couple aspirin about 20 minutes before.

*If you are on any vitamin-a creams (Retin-A, Retinol), or Accutane you cannot get waxed until 30 days after your treatments have been stopped.

Threading

Threading

Threading is ideal for removing facial hair. The hair removal process begins with a cotton thread that is wrapped around a row of hairs, then twisted and pulls out the hair from the root.

Threading is considered a very quick and painless form of hair removal.

Threading started in the Middle East and has just recently become a popular form of hair removal in America.

Laser Hair Removal Basics

Laser hair removal is a permanent hair removal process. It is more costly and takes several treatments, usually between 4-6 treatments.

Treatments will be between 6-10 weeks apart from one another. Depending on the area you are getting lasered it can take anywhere from 15 – 60 min per area. Laser hair removal is a treatment that uses a constant heat source and light beam to target the hair follicle. As the laser goes over the skin the light is attracted to the dark root. The laser will penetrate the hair and kill it at the root.

Do not wax while getting laser treatments as the laser needs the hair to stay in it’s normal growth cycle to permanently get all the hairs, however you may shave in between your treatments.

You will first need to have a consultation with the doctor before you start your treatments. At the consultation they will go over with you how many treatments you will need and how much time in between treatments.

After your series of treatments you may need to go back for a touch-up once or twice. Ask your physician before you start your treatments if they offer free touch-ups after your series is over.

Since the laser is attracted to the dark root of the hair follicle you may not be a good client if you have dark/tanned skin or light hair, some lasers though are able to work with any skin type and hair color.
